Love love these! Saw them at a friends and had to get them! Perfect size, brightness , look and ease of setting timer. Gonna make my Christmas lighting that much easier! I also used them as night lights when friends and family have come over. They can just click the bulb for easy on and off and they loved carrying them (if needed) to the bathroom or up and down stairs. Needed these years ago! If you are looking - stop and purchase!I purchased a 10 pc set in 2018 and used them every evening from Christmas time til mid spring with only one battery change. I continue using them every winter through spring and Love these candles. I love them so much, I've decided to light the back windows as well, as I originally only had them in our front windows. They cast a soft light, but they are very consistent and reliable. I use the suction cups to affix to the windows so they don't tip over when I adjust the blinds. The timer works well, after I place all the candles in the windows, I walk around at the time of day I want them to turn on and set them. I set mine for 6 hours per day, starting as it gets dark and turning off at 10:30 or so. Once they are set, I don't do a thing other than enjoy their glow during our cold winter evenings. As daylight starts to stick around in the early spring, I might adjust the timing a bit, then it's time to put them away til the next blast of winter. I take the batteries out in the spring and replace with fresh ones in the winter. These candles are durable. Enjoy!I just put these in my windows last week. They are perfect but have a few problems. First of all, the remote only works if you are within 6 feet. Which is fine if you are using them all in one area, but not helpful if you are trying to use them in all your windows. Secondly, the directions are pretty confusing re: how to set the timer for the lights to come on automatically. So if you buy these and are confused, here's what we figured out: 1- put your batteries in and turn the candle on with the remote. 2 - Determine how long you want them to stay on. Then push the button that correlates with that time. The candle will flicker off, which means it's set. For example, we wanted them to come on at 5 pm and off at 11 pm. I turned the candle on, then pushed the number "6" (for 6 hours on, 18 hours off). As long as I don't touch the remote anymore, they will turn on and off automatically. Awesome! I would recommend programming them all in one spot prior to putting them in your windows so they will turn on at the same time. The timer is tricky. For 5 PM to 11 PM, you have to have it turned on, then press the 6 button at 5 PM. It blinks when it receives that signal. The remote can cover several in a row at the same time, but if one missed the signal, you don’t know until it fails to go off at all. I ended up pointing and clicking at each candle one by one, since it doesn’t hurt for them to get the signal more than once.I wish the candles were brighter, and I wish the suction cups held better. Invariably when one fell off, getting knocked made it lose its memory of the schedule, requiring a new click at the next 5 PM.Otherwise, I like them. If they received the timer program and didn’t fall off, they worked correctly night after night.I have 3 sets and will use them again next Christmas. In the meantime, I removed the batteries for storage.Just wrapped up my first Christmas using them, I admit given the disparity of some of the reviews I was in retrospect overly concerned about the purchase. I think a lot of people these days would give a free gold bar 1 Star if it had a scratch or showed up a day late.Anyway, these are very easy to use. Requires 2 AAA batteries per candle. I bought the amazon brand and used the candle 6-8 hours per day for a month straight and the batteries are still good. In fact, I removed them and wrapped them up where the terminals couldn’t touch and stored them with the candles for next year. The remote works well and does have more range than it sounds. I was worried I was going to have to activate the candles of consecutive days so they would all come on at once across the front of the house, but again was not an issued. I setup downstairs candles one day and the upstairs candles the next.We live on a lake and so I may not be the best one to speak to brightness of the candles, but they were absolutely visible about from 500+ feet away. The flicker feature I am not so sure about, but I can only say that the candles had an attractive look. Whether that was with or without flicker I am not sure.I prefer a brighter color from the street. It still gives some light on the second floor but it isn't as bright as I would like. I can't speak to the timer or remote as we have already lost it (kids!). It is easy to tap and turn on, just a pain to go around to every window. Also it takes a LOT of batteries. It's a fair price for what you get.3rd UPDATE /EDIT 2021: 3 years after my original review and I am still enjoying these candles! I used them Christmas 2018, 2019, and 2020, and still have them out for winter 2021.The timer option helps save battery life. See my review from 2018 below:Happy decorating! The remote control makes decorating with candles a breeze!! The candles have a flicker and no flicker option, dim or brighter option, and timer option too, if you prefer not to use the remote. They are battery operated, so no worries about using up electrical outlets.I like these so much that I purchased a second set. They are very light weight, well made and look nice in the daytime and at night. They come with suction cups if needed, however mine have stayed put just fine. If needed, tacky wax (sold separately) is also an option, but I haven't needed it thus far.I know what it is like to order set after set of window candles looking for the perfect one. I am so happy to have finally found it. :)Edit to Add: Second season of using these and I absolutely love them!! So easy to use, and they have held up great. I do take the batteries out before storing. The timer feature on the remote control has helped conserve batrery life. Practical, festive and adds the perfect holiday touch.
